1st Game in Bronze I

I fucking hate playing League of Legends right now.

After Completing my Placement Matches I Finally Have a Ranking

I’ve played my 10 League of Legends ranked solo queue placement matches for the 2015 season and now I know where I stand. I’m a made man.

Day 10, Game 10

Before you actually play a match of League of Legends ranked solo queue you have to meet your randomly generated teammates and draft the champion (i.e. character) that you’ll eventually be playing as. You and your four teammates and your five opponents gather in the champion select lobby. This is a bit of a game in itself because team captains choose to ban three champions each before every player selects their champion, meanwhile people on each team will jockey for the position or champion they want to play. The lobby in my final placement match felt ominous.

Day 9, Game 9

When I played my penultimate League of Legends ranked solo queue placement match I decided to once again play the support position. In this case, I first picked the champion Janna. I now realize this whole playing support thing might have to stop.

Day 8, Game 8

The theme of my eighth League of Legends ranked solo queue placement match was Angler Jax shooting fish in a barrel.

Day 7, Game 7

Before I set out to play and document a year of League of Legends ranked solo queue I was pretty confident that I wouldn’t actually take these games seriously, that I was just playing ranked matches as research for this blog. Now I realize that isn’t the case. LoL solo queue and one’s ranking are very important.

Day 6, Game 6

It’s 3:00 am Monday morning and I’m about to log in and play my ranked game of the day. League of Legends can mess with your head and keep you up at night if the losses pile up. 

Day 5, Game 5

It was Sunday night and I’d already spent a decent portion of the day with League of Legends but I was yet to play a game. Confused?

Day 4, Game 4

Only four days in and I’m becoming increasingly anxious about my daily ranked games. I feel like that’s a real bad sign for my sanity as I move forward in my pursuit of documenting a year playing League of Legends ranked solo queue.

Day 3, Game 3

It was Friday night and time for me to play my third placement match of the 2015 League of Legends ranked season.
